> About Lisa Malmquist, CNM
Lisa Malmquist comes to Adel with a background full of different cultures and experiences from her travels. She was born in the city of Preston in Lancashire, England. She received her nursing degree from the Southampton School of Nursing and Midwifery in 1994. After graduating from school, Lisa went on to work in the Neurology ICU department at a local hospital. She moved to the United States for the first time to San Diego, California, then shortly after that traveled to Guam where she worked as a visiting nurse who saw postpartum women in their homes. Soon after that, Lisa moved to Hawaii where she worked in an ICU department. She was finally able to pursue her passion of labor and delivery when she moved to Monterey, California. where she worked as a labor nurse at a county hospital in Salinas, California. In 2004, Lisa moved to Portland, Oregon where she became certified as a midwife. She has recently relocated to Adel with her 10 year old daughter, Isabella. As a Midwife, Lisa believes in getting back to the basics of having a baby and waiting for labor to happen spontaneously. To encourage labor, Lisa prefers many position changes during labor, the use of water, intermittent monitoring during labor for low-risk women, and the least amount of intervention as possible. However, she supports women if they want pain medication or an epidural. Lisa is now accepting new patients! Use the contact information to the left to schedule an appointment. She looks forward to meeting you! |
